Real Wedding: Francesca & August

March 30th, 2023

Francesca and August had a wedding that was packed to the brim with personality and special details. After working with us since 2020 to curate the perfect day, in 2021 their plans abruptly changed with the news that their venue would no longer be able to host their event. Rather than sulking, the couple picked themselves up, dusted themselves off, and planned a celebration that was even more magical than their original vision!

Many of the original vendors made up the new dream team, including Sean Cook Photography, whose images beautifully captured the spirit of the event. We redesigned everything for new venue Morgan MFG and, with the help of Atmosphere Events Group and Food For Thought Catering, pulled off a wedding that managed to be both elegant and whimsical. The couple’s love of music in particular was on full display, in no small part thanks to Samantha Meyer Studio. Sam worked with us to design a will call ticket booth for guest seating and tables that corresponded to the couple’s favorite concerts. Personalized notes from the couple were left at each table for guests to read aloud.

Francesca’s own eye for detail came through in such thoughtful touches as wedding day newspapers in her bridesmaid gift kit and a family wine blending during the ceremony to unite both her and Augusts’ families with their signature labels. Most touchingly, the bride’s beloved grandfather, Poppy, was going to be the ring bearer when planning began, and his memory was honored with a teddy “ring bear,” a seat at the ceremony and a beautiful memorial table. Francesca’s amazing grandmother made a beautiful flower girl! Family is incredibly important to the couple and every aspect of their day was meant to reflect and honor this.

Unafraid to buck tradition, Francesca and August opted for cheesecake instead of wedding cake and 90s cover band Saved by the 90s for their dance set. A combination of live music and DJ sets by BeatMix throughout the event allowed for a high energy party that was the best of both worlds: some favorite songs in the exact original version, and others played live! Other entertainment was sprinkled throughout the reception, including haiku artists on typewriters, a glam photo booth, a live cigar roller and interactive food and drink station.
Francesca and August are truly a one-of-a-kind couple. They brought their own ideas to the table and it was a joy to help them curate their plans in a cohesive, meaningful and impactful way. We are so happy to have experienced the joy of their wedding day at long last, but if anything we just wish that we could keep planning with them. We are thankful for this amazing couple and so happy to share their day with you!
